Singapore Ministry of Education Libraries Award Professional and Library Services Contract to TLC CARL East (S) PTE LTD

INWOOD, WV, November 14, 2005 - The Singapore Ministry of Education (MOE) has selected TLC CARL East (S) PTE LTD to manage and operate its MOE HQ and READ@TN libraries under a five-year contract valued at over $5 million.

TLC CARL East will provide full library management services using its next generation library system built on the CARL.XTM open technology foundation, and will provide a complete package of professional and library support services.

The CARL.X library management system offers rich functionality that streamlines staff workflows and opens new dimensions for searching, discovering, patron self-services, and data mining. The system includes all classic ILS functions (Online Public Access Catalog, Cataloging and Authority Control, Serials Control, Circulation, and Holds); state-of-the-art search engine technology from AquaBrowser Library^®; and Web-based acquisitions with TLC's unique Online Selection and AcquisitionsTM service.

TLC CARL East will also provide complete collection management services from its new Professional and Library Services Division. The services include selection and acquisition of new materials, full fund accounting, audit and reporting services, cataloging and classification services, and dissemination and advertising of materials and services to the membership, as well as the supply of professional personnel to manage and staff the libraries.
