Brevard County Libraries implements LS2 PAC

DENVER, Colo. (April 16, 2010) – The Library Corporation (TLC) is pleased to announce that the Brevard County Libraries of Cocoa, Fla., has enhanced its CARLXTM integrated automation system with TLC's LS2 PAC.

LS2 PAC is an exciting, flexible, multi-application platform that merges library automation with the user-friendly amenities of Web 2.0. LS2 PAC is beautiful software that boasts a flowing, eye-catching representation of a library's titles; RSS news and information feeds that highlight current events and related library books; maps that show where items are located within a library; federated searching of in-house and online content; integrated searching of subscription databases; list creation and sharing capabilities; patron ratings, reviews, and search tags; faceted, manageable search results ranked by relevancy; genre browsing; patron recommendations based on ratings; and many more features.

Additionally, TLC has optimized LS2 PAC to work with Google AnalyticsTM, a free service that tracks Web traffic and trends. Librarians can use Google Analytics (www.google.com/analytics) to discover how, when, and why their patrons access the library's online catalog, then use that data to better frame and package the library to serve the community.

Located in the Space Coast region on the eastern coast of Florida, the Brevard County Libraries system includes more than 900,000 titles and serves a geographic region that is 72 miles long and 25 miles wide. The county is home to nearly 537,000 residents, as well as NASA's John F. Kennedy Space Center. Brevard County Libraries (www.brev.org) implemented LS2 PAC in its 18 public libraries on April 15, replacing the system's AquaBrowser catalog. Two other CARLX libraries – Contra Costa County Library in Pleasant Hill, Calif., and the Pasco County Library System in Hudson, Fla. – previously replaced AquaBrowser with the LS2 PAC visual and social catalog.

LS2 PAC is designed to work with TLC's CARLX and LibrarySolution® integrated library systems. To learn more, call TLC at 1.800.325.7759 or email TLC at e-mail info@TLCdelivers.com.
