Blackwell’s
Blackwell Book Services supplies libraries with scholarly books and bibliographic support services. Blackwell ships millions of books a year, and provides state-of-the-art products and services ranging from ebooks and catalog records, to digital reference works and new title information. EDI messaging is supported between Blackwell and TLC’s CARL.X ILS.

Brodart
Libraries turn to Brodart Co. for everything from furniture to electronic ordering systems. Brodart is a full-service library supply company and is featured in TLC’s Online Selection & Acquisitions acquisitions tool.

It provides tools for community needs assessment, service area analysis, and performance evaluation, enabling libraries to focus collection development efforts and identify building sites. TLC customers can extract a range of collections, circulation, usage, and patron data and send it to CIVIC Technologies for use in LibraryDecision. Cognos Inc.
TLC has partnered with Cognos to provide users of its ILS, Library.Solution, with the most up-to-date Web-based reporting system available. Cognos’ ReportNet, coupled with Library.Solution’s Oracle® – powered database, delivers a full set of pre-written reports, lists, and notices to support most library reporting needs out of the box. Reports can be in lists, notice forms, bar graphs, pie charts, line graphs, and cross-tabs. Staff can schedule the reports to run during off-hours and the reports can be automatically delivered to specified email recipients. Output can be saved in many forms, including Excel, pdf, text, csv, html, and xml formats.

Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries
The Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries has created a powerful electronic resource management tool. The Gold Rush (pdf) electronic resource management system is a standalone Web-based subscription service hosted by the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries. Gold Rush helps patrons access journal information over the Web and helps librarians manage electronic content. Gold Rush includes an OpenURL link resolver, so users can go from mere citations to full text in the most efficient manner. Gold Rush includes powerful ERM features like OpenURL compliancy; a hosted subscription service; and an extensive, automatically updated knowledge base.

Dell

Jamex
Jamex is a leading manufacturer of vending systems and payment solutions. The company’s popular Jamex model 6557, which integrates with TLC’s Library.Solution and CARL.X, accepts coins and bills, including the Sacagawea dollar coins, and the new $5, $10, and $20 bills. This system will determine if change is available before the bill is accepted. A Bypass switch and key allows staff and service use. An LED display provides patron information and meter totals for reconciliation.

Marcive
MARCIVE, Inc. has been offering services to libraries since the inception of the MARC format. In addition to many other services, MARCIVE, Inc. offers retrospective conversion for your library shelf list, or for a file or partially automated titles.

Midwest Tape
Midwest Tape carries a full line of feature, nonfiction, foreign, educational, and children’s films in DVD and VHS. Brief MARC records are free. Midwest Tape’s priority is to get new releases to you on or before the street date. Additional services include standing order programs; a “new to catalog” spreadsheet emailed to libraries upon request; one year guarantee on all videos and DVDs sold; opening day collections; and processing.

Phone Tree
PhoneTree is a messaging system that delivers important information to your patrons quickly and conveniently. Use features like Autotasks and auto reports, duplicate name and phone number screening, pager callback notification, the ability to offer up to six touch tone replies, data importing from existing lists, a built-in voice mailbox, CD-quality 16-bit sound, detailed reporting, and much more. All PhoneTree features are easily customized and accessed from an intuitive point-and-click interface.

Quality Books, Inc.
Quality Books provides libraries with small press books that are not widely available through other distributors. Since its inception, the company has outgrown three facilities in the greater Chicago area and now has its headquarters in Oregon, Illinois. Quality Books, Inc. is featured in TLC’s Online Selection & Acquisitions tool.

TLC has partnered with Reliance Label Solutions, Inc. (formerly GTI) to offer your library a choice of generic or custom barcode labels.

Oracle Gold Partner/Sun Microsystems
Sun’s general purpose, entry level servers are low cost, widely scalable, and extremely reliable. Ranging from single processor systems to up to eight processors running on the Solaris Operating System or Linux , Sun delivers a variety of options to meet your needs.

Swyer Associates
Magna POS by SWYER Associates, Inc. uses the SIP2 protocol to interface with patron accounts that use TLC’s ILS, CARL.X. This enables library staff to complete different types of retail transactions — such as the payment of library fines and fees — in a single step. As a retail terminal, Magna POS processes sales, discounts, refunds, and multiple payment types. It expedites credit sales using IC Verify®, thus reducing the double entry caused by the typical “gray box” credit card machine. Features include an easy-to-use Windows® program, security access and inventory maintenance, on-demand report generation, and with its software companion Magna POS ManagerTM, the ability to report on activity from multiple POS terminals.

Syndetic Solutions
Syndetics Solutions offers enriched content to enhance your patrons’ OPAC use. Enriched content includes descriptive information and cover images relating to all types of materials, from juvenile chapter books to conference proceedings. Content is updated as often as weekly, so new titles appear as soon as items are published.

TalkingTech
Talkingtech offers a Phone Notice Phone Circulation System for circulation renewals, holds and overdue notifications to save staff time and postage costs. Talkingtech also offers touch-tone public PC reservations in conjunction with Envisionware’s PCReservation.
With the company’s i-tiva Connect (pdf), users are able to renew their loan period, automatically, over the phone, with no staff involvement, 24 hours per day. Patrons enter their user identification number by the touchtone keypad on their phone. Following simple prompts, i-tiva Connect will provide information on their account status, and enable them to renew items after which the system will confirm or deny their request. i-tiva Connect interacts with TLC’s ILS, CARL.X, updating patron records in accordance with the library’s chosen parameters. I-tiva may also be used for notification of holds and overdues.

Tech Logic
Libraries looking for comprehensive RFID solutions can now turn to TLC. The company has partnered with Tech Logic to provide RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) products and services. In partnership with Tech Logic, TLC offers RFID tags, conversion services, turnkey hardware, installation, training, and support. Tech Logic’s RFID technology is used for library inventory, check-in, check-out, and security. These services interact with TLC’sLibrary•Solution and CARL•X. Tech Logic is a leading provider of RFID and Automated Sorting Technologies (AST) systems in libraries, using state-of-the-art technology and the latest ISO standards for RFID. Tech Logic has been a proponent of adopting newer standards, such as NBLC, to support interoperability of RFID tags regardless of the supplier.

Unique Management Services
Unique Management Services, Inc. partners with libraries to recover overdue funds and materials. Unique Management offers its Debt Collection service to TLC customers as an efficient, yet gentle way for libraries to recover funds. The Debt Collection Module is integrated with TLC’s Library.Solution and CARL.X. When a patron exceeds fine/fee balance thresholds specified by the library, the system provides the patron’s information to Unique Management, and then blocks borrowing privileges until the patron’s fines/fees are paid to the library. Unique Management then writes or phones to recover the overdue fines and/or materials.

Video Detective
Video Detective offers libraries streaming video previews over a private, high-speed network. Previews of videotapes and DVDs are included.
The service is one more way for you to enrich your OPAC’s content, while offering your patrons the ability to learn about videos and DVDs before borrowing them. New titles are added on a regular basis so your patrons can preview current movies. Users can search by a variety of terms to find the movie they’re interested in. Acquisitions librarians who use TLC’s Online Selection & Acquisitions service can use the service to review video content before purchasing.
