Associate Product Owner

The Library Corporation is looking for librarians who are interested in using their experience working in libraries to formulate and shape library software and services.  The Associate Product Owner person will use his / her library knowledge to perform market research and to work with a team of product owners to design, develop, and deliver high quality library software.  You will work with both internal and external stakeholders, including sales and operational staff, current and potential customers, as well as development teams to ensure the successful translation of requirements into high-quality library software.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform market research to identify new product opportunities as well as inform current product development projects
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to define, develop, and refine requirements for existing and new library software services and software
  • Work with the product owner team to define and understand use cases, features, and overall product goals
  • Study competitive offerings in the market and anticipate customer needs
  • Lead software development projects and be available to clarify functional requirements
  • Review developed functionality and provide ongoing feedback to the development group
  • Review and provide feedback and input on the creation of the product documentation
  • Work with the product owner and development teams to continually improve the agile processes used to manage the development processes
  • Conduct user studies to gather user feedback on developed software and to identify opportunities to improve upon existing software and / or to create new software solutions
  • Coordinate and conduct focus group meetings
  • Work with the implementation department to assist in new product implementations
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to the support department
  • Participate in the company’s product roadmaps processes to identify the short and long term product goals
  • Attend departmental meetings and provide input into departmental discussions as applicable
  • As necessary, attend annual user conferences
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

The Library Corporation is looking for librarians who have Reference/Outreach and/or Circulation/Branch Manager experience.  The ideal candidate will have library experience in many of the following areas:
  • Front-line patron services experiences in either or a circulation or reference role
  • Running and evaluating library reports included but not limited to circulation activity, collection development and weeding
  • Developing, creating, and maintaining effective online tools to promote library services
  • Assisting in the creation / maintenance of library policies and procedures
  • Website content management experience
  • Social media concepts and tools as applicable to the use in a library environment
  • Training or assisting staff in use of the library’s ILS
  • Training or assisting patrons/students in use of the online catalog
  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in libraries

Client Services Support Technician

TLC is committed to providing an outstanding and unexpected level of service to its clients. Client Services Support Technicians are required to uphold this high standard of service while supporting TLC’s Software Products. Members of our Support Team complete daily assignments consisting of the following: configure and maintain Oracle Databases; work with the latest Dell servers and workstations; support the entire library automation system; Web site administration and maintenance; troubleshoot network issues; and installation of software.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work day shift between the hours of 8:30 am and 5:00pm, with occasional 12:30-9pm shift work
  • Support TLC’s library automation software products
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot TLC and Oracle software
  • Provide outstanding customer support via phone, email, and online help desk support functions
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware/software issues
  • Infrequent short term travel to customer sites required

 

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent command of Windows client O/S: XP/Vista/Windows 7
  • Working knowledge of Windows server O/S: NT/2000/2003/2008
  • Knowledge of MAC OS client is a plus
  • Knowledge of Linux command line language is a plus
  • Knowledge of Oracle installation, configuration, and basic database management skills is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot/diagnose computer and peripheral devices
  • Ability to code HTML and administer/maintain Internet Information Server is a plus

 

Communication Skills:

Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey meaning and understanding to customers and staff of TLC with various technical backgrounds.

 

Task Management Skills:

Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage several projects simultaneously, work both independently and in a team environment, and meet very strict time and project deadlines.

RFP/RFQ Bid Writer

Job description:

The successful RFP/RFQ Bid Writer will work with members of the sales team to prepare responses to formal Request for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI), and Requests for Quotes (RFQ), in the Public, Academic, School, and Special Library markets. This position reports to the Directors of Sales.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to assimilate technical and operational information into clear and concise written documentation
  • Responsible for coordinating response efforts with the appropriate sales consultant in order to meet submission requirements and deadlines
  • Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Training, and Product Development departments to gather information to fulfill response requirements
  • Monitor changes in product and bid requests to create the highest quality bid responses
  • Maintain repository of previous responses for use in future RFPs/RFQs/RFIs
  • Work with the Denver office and provide logistical support for CARLX responses

 

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of library experience desired
  • Excellent written communications skills – Undergraduate experience in technical writing and communication a plus!
  • Good organizational and time management skills, including experience working to tight deadlines, confidence under pressure, prioritization, multi-tasking, and problem solving
  • Good technical skills and willingness to learn new tools and techniques
  • Ability to present themselves in a professional manner
  • Ability to provide short-notice support when necessary
  • Competent with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Video Conferencing tools (e.g., Google Hangouts, GoToMeeting)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to build relationships at all levels

The Library Corporationis a leading provider of Library Automation Systems and is looking for a well-organized, highly motivated Outside Sales Consultant to drive new revenue for the business by selling software and services to libraries in the US and Canada.

 

Position description:

The ideal candidate is able to parlay excellent communication, analytical, and demonstration skills into highly profitable sales. This position provides the opportunity for business, sales, and market strategy development. The candidate will also have demonstrated initiative, collaboration, and dedication to quality customer service.

Compensation includes a competitive base salary plus commission.

 

Responsibilities:

The position requires a Bachelor of Science degree, other equivalent degree, or extensive work experience with a proven record of accomplishment. Prior library automation sales and experience is a plus. Knowledge of library automation needs along with experience working with public, academic, and/or school libraries is required.  Excellent presentation & communication skills are necessary as major job responsibilities involve onsite or remote product demonstrations along with extensive written and verbal communication.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Participate in a team designing and developing in Java, JavaScript, C++, MFC, XML, Web Services, and Oracle.
  • Software development including estimating, technical specifications, coding, source control, and unit testing.

Requirements:

  • Strong skills and experience in writing SQL queries, designing databases, developing database applications, and Object-Relational mapping required.
  • Have utilized Pair Programming within development.
  • Excellent analysis and problem solving skills required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • The following skills / experiences are a plus
  • Implementing Object Oriented patterns utilizing common development practices.
  • Oracle PL/SQL or similar
  • Knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures (SOAP, REST, JSON)
