Computers in Libraries 2013

Evolving in New Directions – Washington, DC.

We are pleased to present the 28th annual Computers in Libraries—the most comprehensive North American conference and exhibition on all aspects of library and information delivery technology. Although the tools and technology available to libraries and information services have changed over the years, the excellent quality and range of both topics and speakers at Computers in Libraries 2013 remain the same.

With small steps and big leaps libraries and information organizations are evolving in new and exciting ways. The fast changing technology and social trends are fuelling this evolution in both exciting and scary ways. Computers, spaces, library and information services are all evolving in different, and mostly positive, directions. This year’s Computers in Libraries 2013 theme focuses on mobile devices and electronic collections and how their use is changing the spaces and services in libraries. It focuses on the skills, competencies, and roles that are evolving to deal with all these changes in our communities, campuses and organizations. Opportunities abound but taking risks and trying new and different things is always a challenge. Computers in Libraries 2013 shares how leading edge libraries and information services are evolving, managing and excelling. Register today and as an attendee get lots of ideas and insights for jumpstarting your evolution strategies! And, of course, take advantage of the many networking events to meet and learn more from speakers and colleagues!

January 30th-February 2nd, 2013 Metro Toronto Convention Center

About Super Conference
The Ontario Library Association is Canada’s largest library organization and OLA’s Super Conference is Canada’s largest continuing education event in librarianship. Within the Super Conference event is the country’s largest library tradeshow. The program is a tribute to the ability of OLA members to balance the cutting edge and the practical in a way that can satisfy an increasingly diverse number of member interests and needs.

While this is a very big event, it is also a very good event with exceptionally high scores in delegate evaluations. With each passing year, OLA members surpass themselves in the breadth and excellence of what they produce in this program. They succeed because, more and more, they are willing to take risks, to raise their sights in identifying what is needed, what is possible and what will move themselves and their peers forward.

ALA Membership Pavilion—The Place to Connect

A favorite stop in the exhibits where you can learn how membership can enhance your career, connect you with colleagues, and help you improve library services to your community. For our newest members, meet colleagues from the New Members Round Table (NMRT) who will help you find ways to get more involved in the association, supporting your career and the rest of the profession. ALA volunteer members and staff are ready to help answer your questions about your membership, the conference, and the many things happening at ALA. With information and displays from ALA divisions, round tables, and offices, the ALA Membership Pavilion is your one-stop place to learn and get connected.

Internet Room

Open to ALA members, the Internet Room is located in the Exhibit Hall and is open during exhibit hours only. It is managed by ALA’s Internet Steering Committee and staffed by volunteers.

Post Office

The United States Postal Service will be on hand to take care of your shipping needs, offering exclusively Priority Mail service. Check the Post Office location on site for daily hours.
