TLC: 40 Years Strong and Still Delivering the Future
The Library Corporation is celebrating its 40th anniversary by enhancing its products and expanding its family of more than 4,500 libraries worldwide.
Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma City recently entrusted its 1.27 million items, 600,000 patrons, and 19 locations with TLC’s CARL•X™, an integrated library system specially designed for the biggest and busiest libraries in the world. Additionally, Los Angeles Public Library and Baker & Taylor renewed their long-standing CARL•X service contracts. CARL•X was further bolstered by the introduction of CARL•Connect, which brings the flexibility of a mobile Web-based interface to the powerful automation system.
TLC’s Library•Solution® ILS continues to grow in popularity. Recent customers include:

- Western Development Museum of Saskatchewan

In Michigan, Bridgman and Lincoln Township public libraries joined the TLC family by utilizing the Library•Solution system at Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library; Pennsylvania customers Wayne County and Pike County public libraries merged services to share a single automation system; and Pendleton Public Library of West Virginia and Slatington Public Library of Pennsylvania became new TLC customers by joining existing library consortia powered by the Library•Solution ILS.
Since its inception, TLC has led the industry with stellar customer service and ongoing product innovations. In its 40th year, TLC’s commitment to the future of libraries continues with the release of RDAExpress, a service that converts MARC records for traditional and digital titles to the new RDA cataloging standard, and an accompanying update of the eBiblioFile service that provides libraries with ready-to-load RDA records for eBooks and other digital titles.
